PRESIDENTIAL UPDATE:

Creation of a Membership
Recovery Strategic Work Team. It’s
purpose is to critically evaluate where we are and where we are going with
retention, recruitment, and recognition of members. To share ideas contact Maureen Iacono, the SWT Coordinator @ Maureen.iacono@sjhsyr.org
-
Evidence Based Practice (EBP) SWT met in Baltimore in June. Purpose to
bring an EBP model to our Research Committee for implementation based on our
Standards of Practice. Under the direction of Myrna Mamaril the EBP SWT
developed a model for ASPAN. Look for more information in future publications.
-
The ASPAN Hypothermia and
Pain/Comfort Guidelines were accepted into the “National Guideline
Clearinghouse”. This Clearinghouse is
the ultimate home of many guidelines where novice, expert and academic nurses,
both nationally and internationally, seek the best references.
REPRESENTATIVE
ASSEMBLY 2004:

RA vote by mail approved the proposal to replace the Council
President with a 5th Regional
Director.

Paskewitz represented CBSPAN on the Component Showcase Panel to share
experiences that have been successful with other components across the nation.
