Board information
The board members met in August and discussed membership, seminars, fund raising  the newsletter and officer positions. At the meeting it was reported that Tanya Spiering and Maryann Sosnowski would represent CBPSAN at the ASPAN Component Institute to be held in September in Minnesota. Judy Lond, VP-President -elect announced she would be starting a new position within Christiana Care as a clinical specialist for the surgical units. Judy's officer position will be vacant and concerns were voiced about how to fill the position of President after Maryann's term is completed.

Tanya also shared that she would like to develop a letter that could be sent to the ESD perianesthesia sites, to promote the chapter.

Membership
Eastern Shore District:
        Renewals for this quarter=  24

Fund Raiser
 Members participated in 2 Blue Rock baseball events this summer and received a percentage of the profits from the food stands. The district netted $800

Maryann would like to organize a raffle for time in her home in Vermont. Future planning to be announced.

Maryann has organized a bus trip to NewYork scheduled for November 19th. Proceeds will benefit ESD and the Delaware chapter of AORN.

Newsletter
       
The newsletter is in need of contributors, anyone interested, please contact Maryann.
Maryann, Tanya and Chris Price attended the ASPAN Institute in September and received information for developing and improving a newsletter. The seminar also provided information on evidence based practice. The ESD members would like to thank the component for supporting their attendance.

Maryann would like to discuss the CBSPAN newsletter at the fall component board meeting

 

September meeting was presented by the Christiana Surgicenter and Glasgow Surgicenter  with guest speaker, Dr. Despirido, Urologist who spoke on Bladder Slings.

October will be a board meeting to focus on membership, attendance and involvement, newsletter and the seminar. The spring seminar suggestion has been to have a ASPAN CAP/CPAN review course to promote certification in perianesthesia  nursing.
